Discovery of PDAphone GPS HTC P3300
This PDAphone has very successful design : first of all, it has small form factor, much less than the current tendency of Mio A701 and Eten G500. Its look with its gray dark is very elegant and the plastics are pleasant with the touch with a good finish.
Personally, I find that it is most beautiful PDAphone to date.
Of course, it does not have an antenna GPS to be unfolded, it is completely integrated, as for Mio A701, Fujitsu Siemens Loox N500 and N520, and Eten G500.
The great innovation of P3300, it is its caster making it possible to move in the menus :
In its center, a joystick also allowing to move but especially to validate. This button is very pleasant to use : when one turns in the direction of the needles of a watch, the selection goes down; while turning in the opposite direction, the selection goes up.
This button makes think of that presents on the last Blackberry BlackPearl.
Around this button, appears of many buttons, from top to bottom and of left on the right :
- That with the green telephone makes it possible to launch the Téléphone application or of launching a call.
- That with the satellite is préconfiguré to launch the software of navigation TomTom Navigator 6.
- That beside the green telephone, it is the contextual button of left
- Below, that with the Windows symbol opens the Démarrer menu.
- On right-hand side of the serrated roller in top, it is the contextual button of right-hand side.
- Below button OK allows to validate choices and to close applications on the right having the cross posted in top of the screen.
- That with the hot line makes it possible to close the Téléphone application or to hang up again a call.
- Below, the button with the symbol ” E ” makes it possible to launch Pocket Internet To explore.
Separately the two contextual buttons and the two buttons Telephones, all the others can be reallocated :
On the top of the apparatus a slit with two diodes with various colors is reproduced.
The diode of left flickers:
- in blue when the connection without wire Bluetooth is active,
- in green when the connection without wire Wi-Fi is active,
- out of orange, when receiver GPS is under operation.
The diode of right-hand side :
- flicker in green when the cellular module (GSM/GPRS/EDGE) is under operation,
- flicker in red when the battery is weak,
- is lit out of orange, when P3300 is in loading,
- is lit in green, when P3300 is in loading and that the load is finished.
P3300 seen of back, one distinguishes the lens from the camera numerical 2 integrated Mégapixels, as well as the small mirror below, for the self-portraits :
It’s a pity that the objective is not protected by a trap door.
In top of the back face, the part black out of rubber contains antenna GPS and one can raise the right corner and reach the connector to connect an external antenna GPS :
On the lower part of the apparatus of P3300 :
The small slit of the microphone, the connector miniUSB being useful at the same time for synchronization and food : very practical !
Also the two slits appear to attach a turn of neck. The stylet on the left is distinguished.
On the top of the apparatus :
In the striated part, very elegant, two slits appear sheltering the high speaker, this last is well positioned and thus is not choked when the PDA is posed in a support conveys.
On the left side of P3300 :
From top to bottom, appear the button making it possible to reach the vocal short cuts and vocal classification, the serrated roller of direct adjustment of volume and the slit for rebootstrapping (software reset).
The button making it possible to reach the vocal short cuts can be reallocated to launch another application.
On the right side of the apparatus :
In bottom, the button allowing to start the camera and being used also as release, this button which can be reallocated with another application.
In top, the switch of the HTC P3300. To start it or to extinguish it completely, it is necessary to make a long pressure of a few seconds. And a fast pressure, passes it or the fate of the mode takes care, making it possible to receive calls.
The site of the stylet is on the bottom of the HTC P3300. Personally, I prefer to rather leave the stylet by the top than by bottom.
The stylet is out of metal, good point, end but not too and especially pleasant with the touch. It is of good size and is not retractable : this stylet is successful, not need to change it !
The battery is an lithium-Ion of 1 200 mAh and it is of course removable.
One distinguishes the site from chart SIM with below housing for the tiny memory board with the format microSD.
To reach the site of the memory board, it is necessary to raise the support of chart SIM :
And then to have good nails to raise the trap door for the microSD :

Love this phone, easy to use, wifi, gps. Would like a larger display dial pad.
If you’re a heavy text person a keyboard would be better but for an average person this is a great phone, light, slim etc.
