We at Navigadget have talked about various gps tracking devices. But most of these little Asian gadgets are usually not commercially available in North America. Thus, we present you Gemtek personal tracking device. It is a multi-purpose device that combines a tracking device with a cell phone (for emergencies), a geofencing device, and an emergency SOS device.
Through a monthly subscription tracking device owners access a password protected, web panel with detailed maps to pinpoint the exact location of the tracking Device. It can also be used as a limited function cell phone like we mentioned, with 2 pre-programmed speed dial buttons that can be set by the owner.
Web panel and mapping software allows users’ end result to be as specific as a street address, or zoom out to get a wide angle view of the Gemtek’s location. In the event there is not immediate access to the Internet and the person wishes to locate the device, they can do so through their cellular phone by placing a call to the device.
The pricing is a bit high – the cheapest plan starts at $20, and gives you only 75 units (we’ll explain what this is). The platinum plan costs $40 a month and gives you 250 units.
Now those units:
- Panel Location request: 1 unit
- Cellular phone Location request: up to 2 units
- Geofence activation: up to 2 units
- Geofence deactivation: up to 2 units
- Geofence Alert: up to 3 units (depending on how many of your contacts receive alerts)
- SOS Alert: up to 3 units (depending on how many of your contacts receive alerts)
- Low Battery Alert: up to 3 units (depending on how many of your contacts receive alerts)
- Change Speed Dials: up to 2 units
Yep, you read it right, it’ll even cost you to change the speed dial numbers on the device, or even get a low battery alert. We’ll let you be the judge.
