Microsoft unveils new GPS locator for Microsoft Streets & Trips 2007

ms-streets-trips-985.jpgMicrosoft Pharos today unveiled a sleek new Global Positioning System (GPS) locator that will ship as part of Microsoft Streets & Trips 2007 with GPS Locator, which is being launched today. The new software + hardware package costs $129 and the newest feature compared to the previous versions of MS Streets and Trips is that Microsoft finally made the switch to the most popular GPS receiver – the SiRF Star III – that is 10x more sensitive than GPS receivers of the past. You can buy the software only version for only $39 if you have a GPS receiver of your own. Other new features of the device is the USB adapter, so you have the option of getting rid of the cable by plugging in the GPS receiver directly to a USB port – but still no bluetooth.

New features on the software side include full screen navigation mode, estimated drive time feature, and integration with Windows Live search.
