iPod GPS navigation system part 2
Oct 9, 2006 gps navigation, misc news
Just a week ago we presented you a totally real! iPod GPS navigation system. A week goes by and we come across a new one. This time the freelance graphic designer decided to put a google maps screen onto the new iPod Nano body.
The speculation is that this how the new iPhone will look like and it will let you tag your images onto the map via Google maps like interface.
Rumaging around inside iPhoto’s code, an ingenious poster on the MacTelChat forums has found references to Google Maps, hinting that iPhoto will soon enable photos to be tagged with location data and plotted by origin.
Add that nugget of information to the code found in Apple’s latest iTunes version, which says “iTunes cannot sync photos to the mobile phone because your iPhoto Library needs updating,” and we could be on to something.
Several Apple fansites have reported that the iPhone will tote a decent camera, as well as sizeable storage, so why not add GPS to that bundle, and sync all the data across iTunes and iPhoto whenever it docks?
