Lectronix Navion R5000: navigation and entertainment system for mobile homes

Lectronix Navion R5000 is more than just a GPS navigation system or a video / audio player. It is what they call a “driver information system”. Company claims it can replace at least six existing dash mounted systems such as radio/cd, satellite radio (XM or Sirius), camera monitor, vehicle & trip analyzer, navigation system and tire pressure monitor into one single device along with adding iPOD and USB digital audio support.
If that’s not enough, Navion R5000 can also keep the driver posted of tire pressure, fuel economy, oil temperature, and alternator status as they drive.
To keep in control of so many different technologies, Lectronix utilizes what is called an “AFrame” platform. The AFrame platfrom is based upon a client-server model, where core functionality is implemented in middleware servers that encapsulate and isolate the integrated technology. This modular “building block” approach allows AFrame to easily support a range of integrated in-car systems ranging from entertainment and multimedia to vehicle information, management, and communications.
Lectronix Navion R5000 uses an Freescale Semiconductor MPC5200B processor and they say the whole unit is 100% designed and manufactured in the U.S.
