Don’t get your hopes up just yet. This is not offered in North America. If you live in Europe, you can continue reading. The TravelPilot Lucca MP3 Edition from Blaupunkt is supposed to be one of their high end GPS navigation systems. The Edition unit offers European street level mapping of 26 European countries pre-loaded onto the 2GB internal memory. A nice feature is the SmartCradle, an accessory which allows for a hard-wire connection from the device to the vehicle’s audio system for voice guidance avoiding any unsightly wires on the dash which also features speed dependent voice volume output (GALA).
TravelPilot Lucca comes with an anti-glare 3.5″ color touch screen display and can play MP3 or WMA files while navigating. The way to transfer music to your Lucca is to use the MMC/SD slot, and while you’re at it, fell free throw in some family pictures because there’s an JPEG picture viewer on board.
Here are some other features:
- Integrated loudspeaker and GPS receiver
- Display of traffic sign information
- Route planning with multi-stop destinations
- “Go Home” function
- Speed limit warning (for fixed speed limits)
- Maps can be viewed in 2D or 3D
- Pedestrian mode: Take the unit out of your car and “walk the last mile”

Hi
I am from Europe and live in the sates since 1 year. Unfortunatly I was not able to buy a US map for my TravelPilot Lucca MP3 Edition from Blaupunkt. Blaupunkt US told me there is no DVD with US/Canader maps available which is very confusing due to the maps in the US devices are sold with US maps on SD memory card.
Can anybody help me to find the US maps on a memory card or a DVD. Either buying or data exchange would be my options.

Hi – can anyone tell me the difference between the UK version and the EU version of the Lucca MP3 Edition ?
This refers to the letters on the original screen protection sticker which of course comes off when you start to use it.

I am desperate I have got this Blaupunkt Lucca MP3 Edition but Blaupunkt USa refuses to provide any support as it was bought in Europe (as present for me).
I would be extremly grateful if somebody could help me with map for the USA for this gadget.

Unfortunately Blaupunkt does not sell nor distribute maps for this Global Positioning system and aparently they made them unique. The only chance to get any maps is if somobody can share or exchange with you.
I tried to get hold a very nasty person Roberto with Blaupunkt but she is extremly unwelcome and not-friendly nor helpful.
If somebody can share his/her maps of the USA please let me know, as you are the only chance:

Hi, I purchased a Travelpilot MP3 Edition last year, but lost the CD. This morning while trying to use the GPS, a screen displayed “SD CARD UPGRADE”. Can anyone tell me which OS I need to install and where I can get it from? I cannot see it on the web site.

create a folder namen NAVI on the card, create an epmty txt file named flash.txt. Put the files “lucca, mapdata, system and installlucca.exe” from the recovery dvd into the NAVI file. Unplug battery, insert card, press and hold INFO, plug the ac/dc adapter and wait – after OS Upgrade starts the SD CARD Upgrade. when not click on the start. Let it work. After all is done, restart and take out the card.

According to Blaupunkt’s site (US), this model is suppose to speak street names. Has anyone gotten this to work? Mine only speaks left, right, and distance.

SD Card Update is the message on my Blaupunkt GPS, and I followed the steps described by Joseph and it does not start the update proces.

Oke don’t know about empty flash.txt file, just leave it out…then follow upper instructions, but… not press and hold INFO, but MENU. You enter a factorymenu with an option Sdupgrate. Just press START and there you go…..at least it worked for me

I tried, but nothing is happening, it enters in updating menu: “OS Updating” only if “lucca, mapdata, system and installlucca.exe” are on the root of the card, and that’s all, it doesn’t start or something.

I’ll give you all content of the Recovery CD, if you want, you can change the navigation system. I put on Lucca 3.3 the Igo8 software, anyway, you can put everything you want on it.

Please Help!
My TravelPilot was acting up lately, so I wanted to reinstall the firmware from the DVD. I started the process, but half way through it, I accidentally switched off the unit. I restarted, but the only thing that shows up now is a screen I’ve never seen before that just says “SD Card Upgrade”, Start and Exit option, which neither do anything.
Ideas how I can force it to reinstall the firmware again? I’ll trade US, Canada, and Europe maps for this info.

Bassel, same thing happened to mine, you have to send it to a blaupunkt dealer for repair, theres no other way to fix it.

Can anyone tell me where on the SD card to place extra maps I got from a torrent called “Blaupunkt Lucca Europe Maps v11 & v12.rar” at Piratebay.
All there is in the download is 10 .map files for Europe – no instructions.
Or is this all just a waste of space?
