I have been unable to track down the source of additonal map software for the Aytobe GPS navigator.

Although the Aytobe software clearly indicates that map software is supplied by Tele Atlas after making enquiries with them the claim that they do not.

    Help

Having recently purchased one of these units from Maplin UK as, and I quote “The next generation Sat Nav systems” I too want to know where to get map updates from. I am awaiting replies from Tele Atlas vendors in the hope they can help. There is an upgrade on Aytobe’s website but this is only an upgrade to the system software, I have installed this using a separate SD card and it seems to work fine.
I suspect there will be other people out there with the same problem. Meantime I intend to email Maplin UK to ask them if they can help or are they selling a duff budgie with no support.
that said by the time one needs to upgrade the maps it will be cheaper to buy another low cost unit as prices are falling all the time!!!

    Cheers

    Hello,
I’m leaving in France and just bought this device to Maplin.
However they are out of stock so I wrote them to ask if it will be possible to get a french map because TeleAtlas is telling me that :
“Thank you for your E-mail and your interest in Tele Atlas products.

Please contact http://www.aytobe.com for further information. Although Tele Atlas provides the mapping, we do not provide the software.

My apologies that I cannot help you any further.

In case you have any additional remarks or questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.”

And there is no phone number for Aytobe support in France.

    Anyone has more info.
    Thanks a lot
