Street Atlas USA 2007 from DeLORME with static maps for iPod

DeLORME just introduced the new Street Atlas USA 2007 software series that can now work on your Pocket PC, iPod, Palm, or any laptop or desktop computer. All new software feature updated maps of the USA and Canada and up-to 4 million points of interests (that’s the most we’ve ever heard of), automatic routing, iPod static map export, GPS navigation with spoken directions and voice commands.
There are three versions of the Street Atlas USA 2007
- Street Atlas USA 2007 Plus, on DVD – for business and advanced users including 120 million searchable phone listings, large format printing, and ability to embed photos and URLs @ $60
- Street Atlas USA 2007, on DVD – which lacks the extra features listed above @ $40
- Street Atlas USA 2007, on CDs – same as above @ $40
The iPod feature isn’t all that exciting since it is nothing more than exporting and viewing your maps (just like pics) on your iPod.
Related:Using a tool similar to how MapShare works, now you can select the maps you want from the desktop software and send them to your photo-capable iPod. These map images are static (e.g., cannot be manipulated once on the iPod) and come across in the order you select them, same as with photos. Once on your device, you can access the ones you need, when you need them. Due to the small screen size of iPods, we recommend these maps for urban walking situations where you can discretely reference the maps you need. (Not GPS compatible.)
