Jeep just started their 2006 geocaching challege 1st of August. They’ve hidden 5500 caches which they call a ‘travel-bug’ that feature a tag with a unique tracking number and special instructions on what to do next! Just so the competition is fair for those who can’t go far from the city Jeep was nice enough to hide bunch of them right where you live; in the city.

Here is how you play:

1. Check this site each month to find out what goal has been established for the Jeep 4×4 Geocaching Challenge for that month!
2. Once you find a participating green Jeep Rescue Concept Travel Bug, write down the tracking number that is stamped on the metal tag.
3. Take a photo of your travel bug with the goal for the monthly contest in the photo.
4. Visit http://geocaching.com to create a user account
5. Visit http:/jeep.geocaching.com and enter in the tracking number to visit the web page for the green Jeep Travel Bug you found
6. Upload the photo to the green Jeep Travel Bug’s page to submit your entry.

The big award is a brand new 2007 Jeep Compass but they’re giving away bunch of Garmin GPS units every month.
