Some people at pocketgpsworld decided to open the casing of a tomtom GO 910. Their article mostly talks about the cosmetic differences between the 910 and older 510 and 710 and also how the mounting bracket is annoying and useless and so on.
They did also give some tips on how to reach the Linux based operating system and create custom menus:
As all the other TomTom PNDs the GO 910 is based on the Linux platform. Normally the operating system is hidden, and only the TomTom program can be accessed. But there are a number of ways you can change that.
First of all, the GO supports custom menus. Through custom menus you can call external programs. Those can be shell scripts or full blown executables.

It’s time we had somebody gettin’ into that box. This interesting as we could fetch the tomtom binary for ARM linux isn’t it ?
As TomTom Company only sells their prduct for windows….I’m ready to backup that soft for my zaurus, and even pay them a license !
