Jul 27, 2006 gps navigation

According UK’s Stuff Magazine LG will be entering the GPS navigation market. It sounds like the LG system will use the common SiRF Start III chipset and come with a not-so-exciting 320×240 pixel touchscreen. The software will let the users do a zip code search to find POI’s. There will be a standard SD card slot on all the models.
LG will make the following models available.
- 256MB with basic UK and Ireland maps
- 512MB which adds major western roads
- 1GB for extra directions around major European countries including France
- 2GB flagship which has maps for all of western Europe.
No release date or price has been announced yet.
