According UK’s Stuff Magazine LG will be entering the GPS navigation market. It sounds like the LG system will use the common SiRF Start III chipset and come with a not-so-exciting 320×240 pixel touchscreen. The software will let the users do a zip code search to find POI’s. There will be a standard SD card slot on all the models.

LG will make the following models available.

  • 256MB with basic UK and Ireland maps
  • 512MB which adds major western roads
  • 1GB for extra directions around major European countries including France
  • 2GB flagship which has maps for all of western Europe.

No release date or price has been announced yet.
