packard bell still exists (in Europe); just announced Compasseo 500 and 600

The infamous PC manufacturer of the 80’s and the 90’s still doing a good job in European markets. They just announced two new navigation systems; the Compasseo 500 and 600 in addition to their already existing GPS400 model. The two new models are unique for their small formfactor and not having any buttons on the front.

Here are some of the main features:

  • Integrated SiRF III GPS receiver and integrated antenna
  • TFT LCD 3.5″ touch screen with240 x 320 resolution
  • Processor: 266 MHz
  • 64 MB of RAM
  • Port SD/MMC
  • Dimensions : 9.4 x 7.4 x 1.8 cm
  • Weight : 166 gr.
  • Software: Destinator 6 with Navteq maps
  • JPEG viewer
  • MP3 player

Compasseo 500 comes with maps of France on a 256MB SD memory card and Compasseo 600 is delivered with maps of France, Germany and the main roads of Europe on a 512 MB SD memory card.

Compasseo 500 and 600 will be marketed in August at the respective price of 299 Euros and 329 Euros.
