GPS Tuner version 5.0 for pocket PC is out

GPS Tuner is software that installs nicely on your PDA with Pocket PC or Windows Mobile 5 operating system. It is basically a measurement and tracking tool that can be very handy during geocaching. It lets you record and manage high precision way points, as well as geocaching files, tracks and routes. It also features a digital compass so you can navigate to a waypoint or walk along a route. Previous versiosns of the software cost between $24 and $48 depending on if you wanted 1 year free upgrade and needed area calculation function.

• 6 MB RAM for program and additional 10 MB (at least) for maps

The new version (5.0) is still in beta but the screenshots are very promising. This version has a new user interface, new map handling function that supports large JPG files, a configurable trip computer, and much more…
