GlareStomper visors for your GPS navigation system

Published on June 28th, 2006 in gps navigation, misc news

glarestomperHas after-market GPS device glare got you down? I’ve definitely found it to be annoying in the past myself. This may solve the glare problem for some: GlareStomper Visors.

Originally designed for Tomtom Go GPS units, the Corona, California based company which makes the GlareStompers announced they’ve expanded the product line up to encompass GPS devices from Garmin, Magellan, Navman and Sony. This is in addition to now covering every Tomtom device on the market.

The GlareStomper Visors, which are flexible, reportedly block out ambient light which can wash out GPS displays. Sunlight is prevented from striking both the tops and sides of the unit. They are made of black Cordura nylon and priced at under $20 each.

I will never buy from Glarestomper again!

I ordered from their ebay seller glarestomper and the item never arrived. After a few weeks I filed with paypal and they did refund the money.

A month later I tried again because I really liked the product. My money was refunded about a week later. Being very confused I emailed them and asked what happened. They said they refuse to ship to me! How horrible! I’m filing with ebay to see what can be done but that isn’t right, if I win auction and pay they should mail me the item shouldn’t they?

    FOR THE RECORD.

We did ship the item to the address provided by Bridget.

Without contacting us or letting us know the item had not arrived, Bridget filed a dispute with Paypal. Within 10 minutes we refunded her payment. WE refunded it, NOT paypal. Bridget then left us negative feedback anyway and ordered the same item again (with a different shipping address).

We no longer wanted to do business with Bridget because of her feedback practices, so we refunded her payment. Bridget then ordered 2 more of the same item, and threatened to leave negative feedback for 3 items unless we ship the items to her. We refused and refunded her payments yet again.

The FIRST item was then returned to us as ‘not deliverable to this address’. You see, Bridget gave us a bum address on the first one. All of this could easily been resolved with a simple email or phone call to us.

We are happy that Bridget will never buy from us again. Hopefully no one else will have to deal with her either!!
