Siemens VDO presents the Media Hub

Siemens VDO, automobile equipment supplier for the first assembles in particular embarked systems of navigation GPS presented its concept of Hub Media.
Currently, of the personal electronic instruments such as the mobile telephones, readers MP3 in particular, can be connected to the vehicle by the means of a connection USB, Bluetooth or other. So that these electronic instruments can be used in the car in a sure way, ergonomic and comfortable, Siemens VDO studies their integration of their functionalities to the Interface Man Machine (HIM) of the vehicle. The objective is to integrate the portable applications of leisures in the concept of posting and orders, of such kind for example that navigation by portable telephone or the remote loadings via Internet can be entirely controlled since the wheel and to post itself on the screen of the dashboard.
With this intention, Siemens VDO developed the concept of the Hub Media : as for Bluetooth connection between a portable telephone and the kit free hands, it will be able to connect other apparatuses and applications on the IHM of the vehicle.
And first application of this Media Hub, one can from now on connect the solution of navigation of your mobile to the vehicle : the contents of the screen of the mobile telephone are posted on the screen of the dashboard, vocal guidance is diffused on the audio system of the vehicle and the mobile is controlled since the orders at the wheel. In same logic, one will be able to receive the tele one, to download a film or video games on a screen for the passengers back of the car.
I could see a demonstration of a prototype version with the solution of navigation off-board Siemens VDO on Benq-Siemens SXG75 and that functioned well. Siemens VDO seems to be quite advanced and announces that an introduction in series would be possible in the near future.
