LandRover recently did a TV commercial where they only used the navigation system of the new LR3 to guide a C-130 Hercules cargo plane from Nice, France to the island of Corsica. In case you still haven’t seen it you can watch both the TV commercial and a short documentary on LandRover’s website.

· Advanced touchscreen interface
· GPS satellite technology
· Unique off-road function, allowing you to plot your route using co-ordinates when no maps exist
· Display of the estimated duration and distance till the end of your journey
· Route retracing by keying in “waypoints” along the way
· Advanced 4×4 Information Center, showing you everything from the Terrain Response™ mode selected to which wheels are in contact with the ground
· Map of entire continental USA and Canada, conveniently contained on one DVD
· DVD system which provides fast access times
· Points of Interest display which can be added to your route

Personalization:
The following can be personalized for the user (personalization key):
· Color scheme
· Units
· Language—guidance and voice recognition
· Route preferences
· Map scale
· Map display option
· Keyboard layout
· 2D or 3D view

Voice:
Voice commands can be used to control many functions of the navigation (Range Rover only), audio and telephone.
The Voice Recognition System will recognize commands in the following languages:
· U.K. English
· U.S. English Male
· U.S. English Female
· French
· Italian
· German
· Dutch
· Spanish
· Japanese

    I actually worked on this campaign a bit and thought the documentary was interesting. I liked that they added the documentary element in addition to the commercial.
