Pioneer AVIC-X710BT

Pioneer AVIC-X710BT - the new in-dash GPS navigation system from the company - is quite similar to the Pioneer AVIC-X910BT we just talked about. The only difference is that Pioneer AVIC-X710BT does not include the MSN Direct tuner, and does not do DVD playback. Therefore costs $200 less, bringing it down to only $900.

Pioneer AVIC-X710BT still has built-in bluetooth capabilities and you can bring more media to the system using the SD card slot.

It does play CD’s. You need an extra cable CD-IU50 ($50) for iphone/ipod controls. The included POI’s are horrible. You do have an option through the AVIC FEEDS software to create/download custom POI’s but they don’t show up in the “regular POI” section on the device and you can’t search for a custom POI near the location. They only appear a list. The device is otherwise great, but the POI’s are horrible in my opinion and Pioneer charging 150.00 (in Canada) is a total rip off and they should be ashamed for this, considering there is no other way to get the POI’s to work properly without this ridiculous upgrade charge. Get real pioneer.
