What’s the occasion you may ask? Well, just recently there was an update for AT&T Navigator, and now the GPS navigation software from TeleNav has a new look and some new features.

Check out the video here which demonstrates support for landscape view while navigating, integrated iPod controls and improved audio. The video is for iPhone but you can still win if you’re using another device.

Here is how you can get your hands on one of these free 1 year subscriptions.

First make sure you have a compatible phone here. And then subscribe to our feed and leave a comment below with an email address we can reach you at.

The giveaway is open to U.S. residents only. Sorry rest of the world. Also duplicate entries, emails, IP addresses will be disqualified.

We’ll close this article for comments a week from today and after that we’ll announce the winners.

Good luck.

new-york-times-gps-review
New York Times’ Eric Taub just recently reviewed four iPhone GPS apps.

TeleNav’s AT&T Navigator, Alk’s CoPilot Live, Navigon’s MobileNavigator, and TomTom’s iPhone app. I know we’ve talked about all these many times here on Navigadget before but maybe you just want to hear it all over again from NYTimes.

…According to a report from the iSuppli research firm, GPS applications for smartphones are about to explode, growing from 2.5 percent of users today to 10.5 percent in 2013. And half of those will be iPhone owners…

iPhone GPS apps comparison part II

coPilot-gps-navigation
A couple of months ago Gizmodo did a comparison of different GPS navigation applications for the iPhone. They now have a part II for that. This time they’re covering more of the “second tier” applications – just because they’re a bit cheaper, and not as well advertised. Anyhow – we have all the iPhone GPS navigation apps listed here.

The GPS navigation apps reviewed are CoPilot Live from ALK, Gokivo GPS Navigator from NIM, and Sygic.

Palm Pixi

palm-pixi
Palm just announced the new Palm Pixi. Palm Pixi is a new smartphone that will use the new Web OS, currently popular on the Palm Pre. As you can see Pixi is a candybar style handset with a multi touch screen, removable 1150mAh battery, proximity sensor, 8GB of internal memory, 2.63″ display, 2MP digital camera with LED flash. Only thing missing here is WiFi. But you should be OK with Sprint’s great EVDO Rev. A high speed wireless network.

What did we forget to mention? GPS. Yes. Palm Pixi integrates a GPS receiver and with your Sprint plan you don’t have to pay extra for the GPS navigation software which powered by TeleNav.

A few other features include bluetooth, micro USB port, Qualcomm MSM7627 chipset, 3.5mm standard headset jack, accelerometer, and a light sensor to dim the display when appropriate.

Palm Pixi will be available in time for holiday season. The price is not yet announced.
