MEDION GoPal P4445 is quite new in Europe. It offers an unusual flat screen measuring 4.7″, maps of Europe (Q4/2008), Traffic Message Channel receiver, 2GB internal memory, text-to-Speech, MP3 player, Bluetooth, and even a fingerprint sensor. The GPS receiver is SiRF starIII which comes with SiRFInstantFixII. All the heavy weight is lifted by the Samsung 400 MHz processor.

What makes Medion GoPal 4445 more high-end than most other devices out there is the voice commands capability. In order to keep your hands on the wheel, the GPS navigation system can be controlled easily by voice whether it is address input, volume or traffic information – the device understands a variety of commands.

We haven’t been talking about Medion for a while now, but no worries – they’re still alive and kicking. At the past IFA 2009 which ended very recently they announced their new model MEDION GoPal P4635. The new GoPal P4635 model has many premium features such as voice control, SiRFInstantFixll technology and TMC, which collects information from both intelligent transport services as well as a dynamic information service. There’s an integrated GSM module that receives this constant and real-time information on recent changes in the traffic, parking situation, gas prices and the weather. MEDION GoPal P4635 also has the new navigation MEDION GoPal 5 GPS navigation system software with a variety of safety-enhancing and practical additional functions.

The traffic information is relayed from Navteq Traffic which comes from various sources such as regional data centers and about 5,000 inductive loops on freeways. Also 4000 infrared detectors on motorway bridges as well as data of so-called floating cars from a fleet of over 50,000 vehicles are involved. Compared with the conventional TMC reception on FM this is considered much more information. With the new MEDION GoPal P4635, the user is therefore given a detailed overview of the entire traffic situation.

Starting September 2009, the MEDION GoPal P4635 will be available for about 350 euros. The purchase price includes one year of GSM service and after that you can get access for EUR 4.95 a month, or 49.95 per year.

Medion continues to work on their market share in Europe by releasing bunch of new GPS navigation systems. The latest is MEDION GoPal P5430.

With the new GoPal P5430 Medion is emphasizing the extra large screen that measures 5″ diagonally. The rest of the features are also medium to high end. There’s even a finger print sensor. It uses the SiRF InstantFix II GPS receiver which reduces the time to first fix by guessing where those satellites might be.

MEDION GoPal P5430 comes with maps Western and Eastern Europe; provided by Navteq, and an integrated TMC traffic antenna to help you stay out the mess. Other features include:

3 new GPS navigation systems from Medion

German brand Medion announced 3 new GPS navigation systems at IFA 2008 recently: P5235, P5435 and X5535.

The main feature of these is the very big screen that measures 5 inches compared to the highly common ‘large screen’s that only measure about 4.3 inches. However the resolution is always of 272×480 pixels (WQVGA).

These 3 Medion sat navs have the same design but differ in featuers. They all integrate a RDS/TMC receiver, but the Premium service is in optional on P5235 and standard with P5435 and X5535.

They all have an FM transmitter to send navigation directions or MP3 audio to your car’s sounds system. P5435 and X5535 also integrate a handsfree bluetooth kit. A biometric reader is also integrated to make your GPS safer.

X5535 is the most advanced out of the three since it has a gyroscope to simulate a position fix in the event of a loss of satellite signal.

P5235, P5435 and X5535 measure 14.7×9.4×1.8 cm and use a SiRF Titan processor which runs at 600 MHz.

The GoPal 4.5 navigation software is provided by Medion and this European version comes preloaded with radar locations, text to speech feature and the ability for voice recognition. The maps are from Navteq and is from 2nd quarter of 2008.

Medion P5235, P5435 and X5535 will be available in September and will cost 249 €, 299 € and 349 € respectively…

Medion GoPal E3215

Medion GoPal E3215 is the new “glamour edition” GPS navigation system from the company. With its soft colors and matching carry case it seems like Medion is targeting female drivers with GoPal 3215.

Other than cosmetic renovations, E3215 has pretty standard features such as the 3.5″ screen, maps of Western Europe, TMC updates, and ability to work with a speed camera database.

Medion E3212 is about to be released in Europe, targeting people who are looking for an entry level GPS navigation system. Medion has numerous models available in Europe, and E3212 will probably have the smallest price tag at £120, starting next week. Another plus for Medion’s new model will be the fact the RDS TMC traffic information will be free for the lifetime of the device, again making it suitable for budget conscious consumers.

Medion P4425 with finger print scanner

Medion just introduced world’s first GPS navigation system with a finger print scanner that ensures only intended users can activate the device.

Called GoPal P4425, the device features – in addition to GPS navigation – bluetooth connectivity, voice recognition and text-to-speech, RDS-TMC traffic receiver, and an FM transmitter that lets drivers use their car’s audio system for voice guidance. MEDION’s GoPal P4425 is only available in select European countries and the price is not announced yet.

GoPal P4425 has a 4.3″ screen, a slim body that’s only 17mm in depth, and 3D rendering of maps that even includes some scenery in the horizon.

European sat nav device maker Medion today announced the arrival of GoPal P4425, a GPS navigation system with 4.3″ touch screen and fingerprint recognition for extra security.

Come to think of it this extra feature may come in very handy in case a serial killer steals your vehicle. You don’t want to lead him to your house when you are stranded in a remote parking lot with your garage door opener and cell phone left in the vehicle.

On more pleasant topics; the extra slim GoPal P4425 measuring only 17mm thick also supports bluetooth hands free calling with voice recognition for certain commands, RDS-TMC antenna for live traffic updates, and an FM transmitter to hear voice guidance through your cars speakers.

It will be available in the UK for £300 in November.

Medion made available bunch of new models in Europe, namely the GoPal E3115, E3215, E3315 and E3415. They all have a screen that measures 3.5 inches and come with various alternatives (hands free Bluetooth kit, Premium Traffic Information) and will use the new version of the GoPal navigation; Version 3.

This new range has interesting prices in particular 149€ for the E3115 which is quite inexpensive and the top-of-the-range model that is still less than 249€

Medion GoPal X4510 and S2310

German navigation maker Medion introduced two new systems at CeBIT last week: GoPal S2310 and X4510 (above). These two models use the new version 3.0 of the GoPal navigation software which was very successful in version 2.0.

This new version is offered in 3 alternatives : ME (Medium Edition), AE (Advanced Edition) and PE (Premium Edition). It uses maps from Navteq.

GoPal S2310 has a 3.5″ screen and has a sporty outdoors form factor characterized by its round design all in roundnesses and antishock plastics. It has a tracking mode to record its course and export to Google Earth in order to visualize them.

GoPal S2310 will be sold for 299€.

GoPal X4510 has a big 4″ screen that can support 16.7 million colors. It integrates a gyroscope and an e-compass (electronic compass) in order to simulate navigation without GPS reception. It is also characterized by its micro SD port.

• TFT screen at 4″, 16.7 million colors at 480×272 pixels resolution
• Centrality Atlas II Processor at 324 MHz
