ZorroGPS

ZorroGPS just launched their latest version. Following the problems encountered on the first version, the software underwent many corrections and is now at version 3.0 which is available for download. The new version comes with the most recent Navteq maps to date: March 2009.

According to the editor ZorroGPS is very fast: It takes 5 seconds to calculate a route for 2000 kilometers and 1 second for route recalculation. This GPS navigation software also can overlay satellite maps.

The prices of ZorroGPS are very attractive and vary according to the maps you’re getting:

  • With one of the 22 regions of France: 17 €
  • With France: 19 €
  • With Europe: 29 €
  • With the United States: 27 €

These prices are great but you have to keep in mind that other features such as speed limits, realistic road signs, lane information is optional and cost extra.

It is compatible with Smartphones with touch or regular screen with Windows Mobile, such Asus P565, Eten glofiish M810, the HTC Touch Diamond, the HTC Touch HD, the LG Incite, Motorola Q11, Palm Treo Pro, Samsung i900, Sony Ericsson Xperia X1, and Toshiba G810.

HTC Touch Pro 2

In addition to HTC Touch Diamond 2 today we heard about the new HTC Touch Pro 2 which boasts a huge 3.6″ screen. Of course the GPS receiver is integrated. With its powerful 1500mAh battery and 528Mhz Qualcomm processor you can say good bye to your standalone GPS navigation system.

Other features of Touch Pro 2 include 3.2MP camera, Wi-Fi connectivity, microSD card slot, bluetooth, 3G network support, and Windows Mobile 6.1 backed Touch Flo 3D interface with the new zoom bar.

HTC Touch Pro 2 will be available around the world beginning early summer.

HTC Touch Diamond 2

The new HTC Touch Diamond 2 utilizes HTC’s latest TouchFLO 3D interface which is a customized version of Windows Mobile 6.1.

It comes with a 3.2-inch high-resolution wide-screen VGA display, and measures just 13.7mm thick. It has a new touch sensitive zoom bar for even faster zooming of Web pages, emails, text messages, photos or documents.

The battery HTC Touch Diamond 2 apparently lasts 50% longer, comes with a 5MP digital camera, gravity sensor, ambient light sensor, and last but not least a GPS receiver.

GPS navigation software maker ALK just introduced CoPilot LIve 7, an exclusive edition for HTC Touch Diamond.

The software comes on a DVD which automatically transfers and installs maps and software to Touch Diamond. You don’t have to do much as far telling CoPilot how to talk to the GPS receiver since it automatically detects the phone’s built-in GPS receiver.

The display is apparently also modified for Touch Diamond and you can use the wheel to zoom in and out. It is currently out in Europe for £60 for UK and Ireland maps and £90 for maps of all of Europe.

HTC Touch Pro


HTC just announced a sharp looking business phone called HTC Touch Pro. Most of the specs of HTC Touch Pro is similar to HTC Diamond but it is only slightly thicker which probably is due to the 1350mAh battery that is almost twice as big as Diamond’s.
