MAMBO – GPS tracker and mobile phone

mambo-gps-tracking-561.jpg
Manufactured by German Falcom, the MAMBO is a personal GPS tracker and a tri-band GSM/GPRS phone. The device uses a 20-channel SiRF Star III GPS receiver, and even features bluetooth for both data and voice communication.

mambo-gps-tracking-560.jpgJust like most other GPS tracking devices we’ve talked about the MAMBO also has an alarm button:

In the event of an emergency, the person who carries the FALCOM MAMBO can activate it by pressing a touch button on the unit’s surface. Upon activation the equipment uses the GPS signals to define its positions, and sends a SMS message with its location information or performs a voice call to the predefined number via the GSM network. The FALCOM MAMBO based on the TCP/IP protocol is also able to be monitored as real time over the internet or to send an e-mail to the predefined email address.

It has two battery options – one with 1700mAh and the other with 850mAh. In either case you can trust the on board built-in 3 axis motion sensor to conserve battery. And if MAMBO wasn’t enough, Falcom is getting ready to release MAMBO2, a new GPS / GSM tracker that is even better (pictured right) that is expected to be available as soon as spring of this year. MAMBO2 will also act as a navigation tool.

We’ve contacted the manufacturer to see their pricing options. We’ll keep you updated.
