We had talked about Packard Bell brand resurfacing in Europe with their GPS navigation systems. They must be doing good with their business since they just now introduced the new Compasseo 700 series into their sat nav system line-up. There will be three new models: GPS Compasseo 750, GPS Compasseo 750 T+, and GPS Compasseo 780 T+.

All three are pretty much the same except the amount of memory and maps offered. 780 T+ comes with maps of Western Europe on a 2GB SDRAM, where as 750 T+ only has 256MB which is enough for maps of UK and Ireland. If you go for the basic 750 you won’t get any live traffic updates.

Pricing is not known yet but engadget says it’ll cost £130 or more.

Packard Bell
of Europe is attending IFA 2007 in Berlin as well and they’ve got their GPS navigation systems to show off. One of them is the Compasseo 800. It has a 4.3″ wide screen so it is not necessarily their entry level system.

The bluetooth function of the Compasseo 800 lets you connect your mobile phone with the Compasseo and lets you scroll through your contacts with the touch of a finger.

Compasseo 800 also lets you store notes and contacts during your journey with their phone numbers on its memory so you won’t have to deal with tiny mobile phone displays. It can also synchronize with Outlook which simplifies the input since it is done via a CSV file.

Compasseo 800 has an improved screen with a resolution of 480×272 pixels. It uses a SiRF Star III GPS receiver and a 64MB SDRAM. Depending on the model you can expect to have TMC and TMC pro services as well.

Maps are provided by Navteq. With the 1GB version you can get regional maps and the 2GB storage you’ll have maps of all of Europe.

It should be available before the end of the year.

is growing its Compasseo series with two new GPS navigation systems called Compasseo 810 and Compasseo 830.

Their characteristics is a large screen, namely 4 inches, whereas Compasseo 500 and 600 had a screen of size 3.5 inches. Another main feature is the traffic information via RDS/TMC on the premium type. Another innovation and characteristic, is the hands free Bluetooth kit integrated on Compasseo 830.

Compasseo 810 will be delivered with maps on an SD memory card of 1 GB and will only offer “TMC Live” traffic information which basic info. It will be available end May for 299€.

Compasseo 830 will be delivered with maps on an SD memory card of 2 GB and will offer “TMC Live Plus” traffic information which cover all large cities including Paris, all its side streets and its expressways. It will be available in June to the price of 449€… via

The infamous PC manufacturer of the 80’s and the 90’s still doing a good job in European markets. They just announced two new navigation systems; the Compasseo 500 and 600 in addition to their already existing GPS400 model. The two new models are unique for their small formfactor and not having any buttons on the front.

Compasseo 500 and 600 will be marketed in August at the respective price of 299 Euros and 329 Euros.
